heart all a-flutter

so i was looking around on tiffany's (yes the exalted blue box tiffany and co) website last night, for a good reason though. I received a bracelet as a bridesmaid gift and i was trying to find out how to properly care for it. anyway, i see the little link for engagement rings, and for some reason i click. here i am, a girl who cannot imagine getting married anytime soon, and i am all aflutter over engagement rings. they are fabulous. before i know it i am picking out my own rings, starting at a paltry 10 grand mind you. is this some sort of genetic abnomality that girls have? a genetic predisposition? or just a lifetime of socialization? i have no plans on getting married for a while. i want to be established in my career first, and i don't plan on settling. but everytime i see that blue box...
