class warfare bitches

So i was reading Joe Klein's new article in this week's Time magazine, and FINALLY! the dems are getting it. they are growing some balls. the gop has been dragging politics into the dirt election cycle after cycle for decades. and they aren't even concentrating on real issues. flag burning ammendments, gay marriage, all fluff. things that get people on the right all riled up, because CONSTITUTIONALLY you have to oppose shit like that, and then the character assasains can come out and say shit like, he likes to burn flags! he hates his country! it seems like this happens every year and we are unprepared. but it looks like for once some candidates are getting it right. they are advocating a little old-fashioned class warfare. hells yeah. and they are actually bringing out the guns to fire back at the ridiculous character assasains. here are two exerpts from Klein's article that i particularly enjoyed:

"'Fella comes in for a trim on his flattop because he's running for U.S. Senate. Guess he didn't want anybody to know he opposes a gay-marriage ban. Thinks flag burning is a right. And supports higher taxes. So I told him, 'You're gonna need a lot more than a haircut to cover up all that' ... Didn't leave much of a tip either."
To which the Montana Democratic Party immediately responded with an ad that replayed the "tip" line of the ad and then went on: "Here's a tip. The man attacking Jon Tester is an actor. A fake, sent by Senator Burns' Washington friends to tell lies about Jon Tester ... It's bad enough that Burns took thousands of dollars from sleazy lobbyist Jack Abramoff's associate and then changed his vote ..." And so on."

Damn straight! HOLLA!

"In Virginia, for example, the campaign of Democratic nominee Jim Webb—a decorated Marine and a former Republican—responded to a Republican ad that accused him of supporting flag burning by saying, "People who live in glass dude ranches"—Webb's opponent, Senator George Allen, spent summers working on ranches while Webb was in Vietnam—"should not question the patriotism of real soldiers who fought and bled for this country on a real battlefield.'"

AWW SHIT! now can we get people like those on the Web campaign on all the campaigns for open seats and targeted seats across the country? maybe if people actually get their hands dirty we can get some shit done in this country.
